The fight between the two popular brothers and singers popularly known as Psquare, Peter and Paul Okoye has turned fans frenzy over the weeks.

The two brothers decided to go their separate ways after months of internal problems, which some people claimed was caused by their new wives.

Though both earlier refused to admit  there was a big problem that led to their decision to path ways, the recent development which showed Paul and Tiwa Savage releasing a single without Peter revealed to the public that the fight may have reached a point of no return.

Peter released a song titled “Eyes” which went viral as usual and few days later, his brother Paul released a heart touching soul titled “call heaven”.

The song did not only showed that the two brothers were separated, but also pointed out that Paul was weeping over the turn out of event.

Yesterday, Peter took to his instagram to thank his fans over their comments concerning the break up, adding that it was a family matter and would prefer to settle it in house.

Peter also reminded his brother that he was the first to go solo by releasing a single with Tiwa savage. He assured Paul that despite their problems, he is available for duo at any time.

Peter said “Hi guys. Thanks for the love and support, I so much appreciate everyone of you.

For public record, I don’t have any issues with my brother Paul the only issue I have is with the management which I have disassociated myself with.

“There is a clear line between family and business, Jude still remains my brother, he is just no longer my manager. For the record also, P’square still remains, the only difference is that we are under separate managements and there is nothing wrong with that.

“I see no wrong in doing separate projects and and still being together as P’square. I love my brother Paul, I support him and wish him the very best in life but misguiding the media is not the right thing to do, if we have issues as brothers, the right thing to do is settle it between ourselves and not give media something to feed on.

“I took family issues to the public when I went on a Twitter rant but I apologised for that, you shouldn’t do the same, making me look like a bad person and giving the public an opportunity to crucify me is not a solution. You went solo first by releasing a song with ‘Tiwa’ and your new artists.

“This doesn’t stop us from producing good music together or giving our fans the best of P’square, it’s just time for personal development. A few things you probably didn’t know about PSquare

As a musical group, the Okoye twins – Peter and Paul – have come a long way. After ruling the entertainment scene in Nigeria and Africa for about 14 years, winning many laurels in the process, it is unthinkable that they are about to tear the union apart at a time that the group has almost evolved into an institution.

The group known as P-Square started in St. Murumba Secondary School in Jos, capital of Plateau State, in the 1990s. Peter and Paul Okoye cut their teeth as singers and dancers in the school music and drama club before forming a group known as the Smooth Criminals in 1997.

Later, the brothers enrolled in a music school to receive formal training on how to play the keyboard, drums, bass and rhythm guitars. When the Smooth Criminals got disbanded, the twins, who were already household names in Jos, founded their own group. At different times, they named the group Double P and Da Pees before finally settling for PSquare.

Initially managed by Bayo Odusanmi, aka Howie T, a seasoned concert promoter, the PSquare started its musical journey on a sound note. The group won the Benson and Hedges Grab Da Mic talent hunt competition in 2001 and earned a well-deserved sponsorship for its debut album, titled Last Nite.

A few months later, the PSquare was nominated for the KORA Awards of the same year in the Most Promising African Group category. The icing on the cake came when the group won the 2003 Amen Award for Best R&B Group.

The PSquare had since gone ahead to win more awards. In its 14 years of existence, it recorded a total of six studio albums, including Game Over, the group’s best-selling album that sold over 8 million copies all over the world.

Just last night Lola Omotayo who is married to Peter Okoye started a situation that might get out of hand.

She put up a photo of Boris Kodjeo on Instagram and captioned it: -

“Nothing like a Godfearing supersexy man#teamjesus#onewomanman“.

Call him childish or whatever but Peter Okoye retalaited this morning  posted a banging photo and captioned it “single and searching”

Why P-Square do not live with their wives

The cyberspace went agog when performing twins, P-Square revealed on a radio station that they do not live with their wives. The twin brothers have been living together virtually all their lives. During the radio programme, the singers also hinted that they would move to their separate houses in December, 2014.

However, many of their fans assumed that all was not right between the brothers and their wives, considering that just a few months ago, there were reports that the duo were on the verge of breaking up.

However, when Saturday Beats contacted the singers’ publicist, Bayo Adetu, he denied that the brothers had any problems with each other.

But another source in the singers’ camp told Saturday Beats that the brothers do not live with their wives at the moment because they are constantly in the studio working on their sixth studio album. Already, the first three songs they released from the album are enjoying massive airplay.

“You know that P-Square are hardworking people and when they are doing their music, they strive for the best. Most times, they are in the studio because of their new album and that is what they are concentrating on,” the source said.

For what it seems like ”You Do Me, I do You” Peter Okoye intentionally missed his older brother, Jude Okoye’s and Ifeoma Omeokeke wedding today in Anambra state.

Last year, Jude Okoye refused to attend Peter’s wedding with Lola Omotayo, to tell the world that his action was intentional, he posted a picture of himself in studio on twitter, but attended the wedding of Paul and Anita Isama

Well, Peter Okoye of Psquare, one of the singer of the popular naija song, “If you do me, i do you” repaid his brother’s debt today by also posting a picture of himself showing he is not in Nnewi, Anambra State during the wedding.

Peter has not updated his profile since July 30, but made sure he did so today. Will you blame him?

P-Square say they quarrel and argue like anyone else.Peter Okoye of P-Square has admitted that there was quarrel between the brothers- Peter, Paul and Jude. He said this in a series of tweets via his Twitter handle, @PeterPsquare.

“@PeterPsquare: We quarrel and argue just as u all do d same with ur siblings and families. Psquare is no exception.

“@PeterPsquare: We r also human, we ve settled our differences. And it has made us stronger! Thank u all for ur support and prayers”, he tweeted.

He, however, said the group is back together and are already working on their next video, Testimony, and Phyno’s O Set.

In the past weeks, Nigerian’s blogosphere went wild with speculations of a P-Square break up after their brother, Jude ‘Engees’ Okoye, tweeted that he was putting 10 years behinds and moving on.

Also, P-Square’s publicist, Bayo Adetu, has denied that he described the rumoured P-Square break-up as a publicity stunt in an interview with Icon Magazine.

Adetu said the magazine wrongly quoted him saying he could never speak in such manner as it would “amount to toying with the emotions of P-Square fans” which he said he cherishes “more than diamond” and will never disrespect.

“It was indeed a misconception on the part of the writer. I never said the rumour was a ‘publicity stunt”.

“There is no way I could have granted an official interview and spoke in such denigrating manner as being portrayed by the magazine in question”, the former The News/ PM News reporter stated in a statement.

He, however, confirmed speaking to Star FM and NTA2.

Adetu also did not deny calling bloggers unprofessional and blasting journalists who quoted reports on Linda Ikeji’s blog.

Breaking: Fighting Psquare reconciles

 

The wide spread break up between the two popular Nigeria musicians, Peter Okoye and Paul Okoye popularly known as P-SQUARE has come to an end as they finally reconciled.

The duos and their big brother Jude Okoye all tweeted their messages on twitter this morning expressing their love for their family.

It was earlier reported that Peter gave his family conditions for conciliation which was respect for his wife, Lola and his two kids.

The news of the breakup between the two brothers have spread like fires across the globe and people from different locations emailing and tweeting the duos with appeals for reconciliation.

As at yesterday, it was reported that close friends of the singers intensified their effort to reconcile the duo and it has finally paid off.

Their elder brother, Jude Engees Okoye on April 18 exposed the crisis in the family on witter and since then the twins went completely silent about the storm.

The condition for peace given by Peter was accepted by the family. Peter only wanted his family to accept and respect his wife, Lola.

The drama coming out of the PSquare household is getting really serious. And at this point, friends within Psquare’s camp have confirmed that yes, the brothers are indeed having issues.

Jude’s tweet yesterday meant he was done managing his brothers, and that Bayo, Psquare’s PR, who tried to debunk the initial rumor was only trying to see if things will get resolved without getting the public involved.

We gathered also that all these while, Peter and Paul were not living with their wives. Lola and her kids had their own house, Anita and baby Andre had their own place while Paul and Peter lived with their brothers, not just Jude, in their Squareville mansion.

Yesterday, Jude shared a tweet that sparked fears that all is not well with Africa’s beloved singing duo. Today, a source very close to the artiste has revealed that not only are the twins fighting but also that Peter Okoye wants out of P-Square and they have even gone as far as inviting a lawyer to divide their fortune.

As of right now, Peter Okoye doesn’t want anything to do with P-Square. He has moved out of Squareville mansion in Omole where he lived with his brothers for years and now lives in Lekki Phase 1 with his wife Lola Omotayo and their children.

“Yes they fought this week. Peter even left a mark on Paul’s left eye. But the fight wasn’t during rehearsal, which rehearsal? Peter has refused to do anything P-Square for weeks now. Forget that he was at his brother’s wedding, things are not good between them right now. They were even invited to perform at president Jonathan’s wedding but they didn’t go.

Peter wants out. He said Paul and Jude are sidelining him. That if they push out 200 songs, 199 would be songs Paul did. That people are now calling him a dancer in P-Square. Peter is really angry. He’s even the cool and friendly one between the brothers but he is not himself right now.

And then he accused his brother Jude of disrespecting his wife. Peter and Jude haven’t spoken in weeks. Peter said Jude has been disrespecting Lola for years and he was done tolerating the BS. In fact Peter said that not only is Lola older than Jude, but that she’s also pregnant and Jude was upsetting a pregnant woman. If you notice Jude didn’t attend their wedding last year despite the fact that he was in Nigeria. Jude asked Peter why he didn’t marry Lola when their mother was alive. Jude said it’s his wife that is pushing him and they will need to pray for him. In fact nobody in the Okoye family likes Lola and they didn’t support the marriage.

The brothers are really angry at each other. The police is even involved. This week, either the commissioner of police or someone from his office visited their house. The worst part is that they have invited lawyer to come and share property o. They want to share everything. The lawyerwas at their house I think on Thursday. Peter said no more P-Square joint ventures. You know they own everything together, including a house in Omole, Parkview and Atlanta.

Except something is done fast P-Square is about to be finished. But I know that people have been intervening and begging them to reconsider, that they are the biggest musical duo in Africa. Nobody will benefit if they split. The power to make money is in their togetherness.

It is Jude people are begging to keep the brothers together, but after what he tweeted yesterday, it may truly be over for P-Square. Jude has really tried for his brothers, for him to give up may mean it’s over for them. He practically put his entire life on hold for his brothers. Even sold his first car to shoot their first video but all that is about go come to an end like he tweeted. The only thing that can save the situation is if by a miracle Jude and Lola settle their differences but I don’t see that happening.

The traditional wedding of Paul Okoye and his fiancée Anita Isama will hold in Port Harcourt on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Aztech Arcum centre at 12 noon.
