Amaechi’s Confirmation, Formal Approval Of Corruption – PDP

The political intrigues surrounding the ministerial screening of former Rivers State governor, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi and his eventual confirmation for appointment as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by the All Progressives Congress, APC dominated Senate is an official endorsement of corruption and gross abuse of democracy.

The Peoples Democratic Party stressed this in reaction to the nod given to president Buhari’s choice of Amaechi as one of his Ministers despite the monumental allegations of fraud, looting of State treasury and unprecedented abuse of trust while he held sway as Governor of the State for eight wasted years, as contained in the Justice George Omereji led – Judicial Commission of inquiry and the Rivers State Government white paper which indicted Amaechi.

Making its position known through a press statement by Jerry Needam, his Special Adviser on Media and publicity, the State chairman of PDP, Bro Felix Obuah said for throwing the most revered rules of the Senate and the sanctity of the laws of the land to the winds for the singular reason to compensate an indicted party member does not only amount to fait accompli but also exposes the hypocrisy of the APC-led federal government that anchored its campaign slogan on anti-corruption crusade.

The State PDP Chairman who expressed shock that the APC Senates could descend so low as to fling away the report of  the ethics and privileges committee just to have their way without minding the feelings of the people they are representing amount to formal approval of corruption.

He however, commended the courage of the PDP Senators for staging a walk-out, which is a historic statement that they were not and could not be part of the institutionalization of corruption in Nigeria and the legalization of criminality and scarification of integrity on the altar of loyalty.

Bro Obuah remarked for the umptieth time that Amaechi is only representing the interests of his benefactors and definitely not Rivers people as the State prefers to suffer persecution for standing on the side of truth and what is right to being eulogized and pampered as a chief servant in a slave house.

“While we look to the end of the APC-led federal government which has started on precarious feet of falsehood and deceit, we can only say that the end can never contradict its means which in this case, is suspect.

Our regret is the APC’s disservice and disappointment to the entire Nigerians whose hope of getting a better alternative government from the Buhari administration and 8th Senate has been dashed.

It’s an illusion to think that Amaechi and his like as ministers would perform anything different from what they did while they served in all other capacities”, the State PDP boss declared.

A call for his arrest an ‘infantile joke’ - APC Spokesperson tells PDP

Spokesman of the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives congress, APC, Mr. Chris Finebone says his attention has been drawn to a press release by the Chairman, Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bro. Felix Obuah and signed by Mr. Jerry Needam calling for his arrest for purportedly making inciting remarks over

the ruling by Federal High Court I, Port Harcourt and presided over by Justice Lambo Akanbi last Thursday.

According to Chris Finebone, “Ordinarily, my instinctive response to such a joke is to ignore it as I have done severally in the past. However, let me for once state that we are in such serious times that the likes of Felix Obuah and Jerry Needam should discard their toga of court jesters and refrain from puerile jokes that enjoy no attention

from serious people”.

“More so, Bro. Obuah and his Aide should have come to terms with the serious dimension the total breakdown of waste management in Rivers State has assumed especially with the possible breakout of serious epidemic in Port Harcourt and environs. Curiously, rather than lose sleep on how to pull the chestnut from the fire, the hilarious duo

prefers to display their uninspiring comedy before an inattentive public concerned with more serious things in life.

“The APC has extensively and unequivocally made its position clear on the matter of the court ruling and there is no need to belabour it here. However, it is important to re-state that prior to the sham ruling of last Thursday, Justice Akanbi, Governor Nyesom Wike, the Rivers State House of Assembly and other relevant parties were in possession of an interim Order of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria given in writing under the hand of Hon. Justice J.T.

Agbadu-Fishim, holden at Yenagoa, Bayelsa State on 22nd day of June, 2015 restraining the Governor of Rivers State, the Rivers State House of Assembly and the Attorney-General of Rivers State and their agents from dissolving, suspending, sacking terminating or in any manner whatsoever interfering with the tenure of office of the 23 Local Government Councils of Rivers State. The Order also restrained the Inspector-general of Police or his agents and proxies from enforcing any purported action detrimental to the existence of the 23 Chairmen and Councils in Rivers State.

“However, I would like to advise Felix Obuah to concentrate on tackling the breakdown of refuse removal in Port Harcourt city and environs, a job his master consigned him to do. But more seriously, he should consider how best to launder billions of Naira belonging to Rivers people on behalf of his master, which is the real reason he is

positioned at his present outpost – a job many consider too demeaning for the high office of a state party chairman.

“Finally, there is nothing inciting in my presentation to the public other than to place the issues arising from the ruling of Justice Lambo Akanbi and its interplay with other related issues, especially as it concerns our party, the APC and the 23 Councils in Rivers State, in their proper perspective for the benefit of the public. No more”

Power Tussle in Rivers PDP May Consume Wike..ght Dirty

The inside power game within the distraught Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State has taken a new dimension as the National Headquarters of the Party led by Adamu Muazu is poised for a showdown with the Supervising Minister of Education over his recent moves to stop any plans by the National Exco of the Party to change the present leadership of the party led by Felix Obuah.

Face reality and take PDP as opposition party PDP tear apart and APC Smiles behind

Inside sources who wouldn’t want to be mentioned spilled to Naijas Report that the Minister has been ordered to vacate the Court Order he obtained through a surrogate, Chukwuemeka Aaron, the PDP Chairman of Obio/Akpor LGA from a High Court presided over by Justice Evoh Chukwu.

The Court had ordered that:

1. INEC should recognize the Exco of PDP Rivers State led by Felix Obuah.

2. Barred the PDP and INEC from accepting candidates for elections from any other group other than those produced by Obuah.

3. Restrained the PDP National Secretariat from holding or conducting any congress for the purpose of selecting or recognizing new leaders, until the expiration of the four-year tenure of the Obuah group.

4. Restrained INEC or any of its officers from monitoring or supervising any congress in Rivers state and from accepting list of candidates for elections except those provided by the current leadership of the state.

However, privilege sources say Wike is rather bent on putting up a spirited fight against Muazu who is said to be acting on the orders of the President.

In a bid to ensure that there is no further betrayal and complicity with those bent on stopping him as the flag bearer of the PDP, he has sacked all his personal and domestic aides

Meanwhile, the Minister who is alleged in some quarters may be dropped early next month when the new Ministers screened by the Senate will be sworn-in is said to be meeting with all his foot soldiers in the different local government areas. The meeting is said to be held every weekend in Hotel Meridian in Port Harcourt.

Though the plot by the Riverine people of the Party to stop Wike is raging, it is said that Wike and his men, who are especially aggrieved politicians whom he placed a price tag on through juicy contracts are determined to confront the President and his men.

In spite of his public braggado, Wike is said to be hurt as he feels being used to fight Gov. Amaechi, his former boss and now about to be dropped for the choice of another candidate for the upcoming governorship primaries in the state.

He was said to have told his men that he would fight to finish if the Party carries on with plans to dump him. The way he will prosecute his political battle just to realise his perceived gubernatorial aspiration will be seen in no mean time.
