PDP denies Amaechi’s Corruption Allegation Against Wike

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Rivers State Chapter has again faulted and denied Gov. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’s corruption claims against the Honourable Minister of State for Education, Chief Nyesom Wike, saying it is an after-thought and politically motivated. It is a figment of Amaechi’s imagination, lacking in truth and substance.

Wike Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, and Minister of State for Education, Mr. Nyesom Wike

“How come Amaechi is only talking about it now that Wike is his political opponent? How come Amaechi as Governor of the State did not take any action against Wike if truly Wike diverted over N2B meant for building 14 Schools? How come Amaechi has not invited the EFCC or ICPC to probe Wike” the statement said, adding that Amaechi should show evidence that Wike diverted any public funds.

The Party noted that Amaechi must answer the following questions and make good explanations if he wants to be taken serious. If indeed Wike is corrupt, why did Amaechi nominate him to be appointed a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria? In the same vein, why did Amaechi make Wike the Director General of his campaign organisation in 2011 if Wike is corrupt? Is Amaechi now admitting that he is not in charge of his administration or that he is a weak governor? Is Amaechi now admitting that by not acting or speaking up against Wike before now, he was an accomplice to the crime of diversion of school contracts assuming it exists?

The PDP also flays Governor Amaechi’s allegation, describing it as a collection of fallacies, which does not only expose his short sightedness in the appreciation of the contributions and gallant efforts by Chief Wike in achieving the successes of that PDP led-administration in the State, but further demonstrates his weakness and confused state of mind as a governor.

The Party says she is not a new comer to the gimmick of Gov. Amaechi and his hopeless All Progressives Congress’ strategies, noting that such fraudulent claims should not have been swept under the carpet, and therefore challenges him to provide proof of the schools which construction funds were being diverted by the then Chief of Staff. The Party is also interested in being furnished with the contractual cost, proposed location and other facts attesting to the claims of the Governor, otherwise, he should forever remain silent.

Again, the PDP wonders why it took Gov. Amaechi four years after the life of that administration to ‘expose’ such action. This, we can understand, shows that Amaechi is a drowning politician who is merely playing to the gallery to achieve cheap and illusive political points.

The PDP therefore dismisses this unfounded allegation against its Leader in the State, Barr. Nyesom Wike, saying that at the appropriate time, it will bring to public domain records of facts and evidences of monumental corrupt practices by Gov. Amaechi, his family members and and allies.

We urge Gov. Amaechi to remove the log of wood in his eyes even though it appears too late for him.

The PDP calls on the public to disregard the said allegations by Governor Amaechi, and remain resolute against the distractive efforts of Amaechi by the APC to cause disaffection in the State.

PDP Faults Amaechi’s Proposal To End Insurgency

The Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, says it is not true that poverty and unemployment are solely responsible for rising insurgency and state of insecurity in Nigeria especially in the North Eastern Party of the country as recently noted by Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.

Tying the Boko Haram’s senseless killings on poverty and unemployment, the PDP notes, shows that Gov. Amaechi is yet to come in terms with history and does not seem to understand what terrorism as a global phenomenon is all about, or at best, was only trying to get at President Goodluck Jonathan in furtherance to his war of attrition on the PDP ruling federal government.

The PDP came out with this while reacting to comments credited to Gov. Amaechi when the Senate committee on privatization and commercialization visited him in Government House, Port Harcourt.

The party regrets that rather than address the issues raised by the visiting Senators, Amaechi veered off to blame president Jonathan for the insurgency by not doing enough to address the issues of education and employment in the country.

The PDP in a statement by Jerry Needam, Special Adviser, Media to the State Party Chairman, Prince Felix Obuah demanded to know why the problems of unemployment, cultism and all manner of criminal activities have lingered on in the state especially since the redeployment of the former commissioner of police in the State, Mbu Joseph Mbu if he (Amaechi) really has the magic wand to end insurgency and insecurity in the country.

The Party recalls that even in Ubima, Gov. Amaechi’s home town, the father of a Catholic Priest was among several others, was recently murdered in broad day light, stressing that till date the masterminds of the dastardly act are yet to be traced.

According to the PDP, the issue of insecurity and insurgency is not one to play politics with, arguing further that it’s such comments and uncalled for utterances like those of Amaechi and his co-travelers in the opposition, APC that may be giving the insurgents the impetus and heart in their onslaught against their fatherland, Nigeria.

However, the best way to teach how to tackle the menace of insurgency is  stamping it out from one’s own domain first which in the case of Amaechi’s Rivers State, is one of the highly volatile yet he is blaming President Jonathan who superintends a  far larger community when he cannot remove the speck in his own eyes, the PDP remarked.

2015: APC declares 7 days fast for Wike"s Emergence as Rivers PDP Guber Candidate

By Ehi Ekhator

The Rivers State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed gratitude on the reports of the adoption by the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate for the 2015 gubernatorial election in the State.

APC apc

The party urge the aggrieved members who are opposed to the choice of Wike to sheathe their sword and Support the Supervising Minister of Education, Chief Nyesome Wike as the PDP flag-bearer that will formally dismantle and bury PDP as a political party in Rivers State.

The APC leadership in Rivers State has declared seven days fasting and prayer for all members of APC and those who truely love democracy in Rivers State in this regard. The fasting and prayer program will commence on 25 March, 2014 and ends on 1 April, 2014 at the APC State Secretariat, old GRA Port Harcourt during the normal period of the weekly prayer and thanksgiving of APC Women. Evangelist Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya the Interim State Chairman of APC, Evangelist Mrs. Carol Nagbo the APC State Women Leader and other great men and women of God are expected to conduct the end of the fasting event. According to Evangelist Nagbo, APC is a miracle party whose mission is to dismantle every element of evil and undemocratic acts as represented by PDP from the psyche of our nation and Rivers State in particular.

The party said that no one should forget so soon that PDP is a party whose hatred for Rivers State is legendary and anything that is lawful and spiritual to stop such an undemocratic party from Brick House is an effort in the right direction and allowing an unsalable candidate like Chief Wike as the party’s flag-bearer is one of the ploys it will exploit as a party to achieve this.

It added “PDP has ensured that the State’s funds dwindle by ceding our Soku oil wells to Bayelsa and others to Abia State. It has also ensured that the State lacks any sign of Federal Government presence by way of projects, besides promoting insecurity in the State. Anything that would contribute to see to the total annihilation of such an evil party from Rivers State is a welcome development and one of the quickest ways to ensure the quick death of the party in the State is to allow Chief Wike to clinch the party’s ticket for the 2015 guber election.

“The fact remains that Chief Wike, who has spearheaded PDP-led Federal Government’s onslaught against Rivers State, has lost political value in the State. Most of the people that made him tick politically have since deserted him to APC while some hungry loafers are massaging his ego just to enable them have a meal at his expense.

“Apart from Wike’s political baggage, another major factor counting against him is that he comes from the Ikwerre axis where the current Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, also comes from. With Governor Amaechi spending eight years as Executive Governor of Rivers State by 2015, it will amount to political slavery of other sections of Rivers State to allow another Ikwerre man to be elected Governor come 2015 and as a just political party we will not allow such blunder to happen no matter the odds.

Reassuring the people of Rivers State, the party said that “The All Progressives Congress (APC) is a party founded on equity, justice and fair play that came on board to effect the much-needed change both in the State and in the entire Nigeria. In this regard, we have told our Ikwerre brothers interested in contesting the 2015 gubernatorial election to sacrifice their ambition in the spirit of equity, justice and fair play and allow other sections of the State to have a shot at the Brick House. In this regard, we intend to present to the State, at the appropriate time, a well qualified candidate that will not only improve on the wonderful works that Governor Amaechi has been doing in the State but, indeed, surpass it!” (0)
