Governorship 2016: Who is Afraid of Solomon Edebiri?

While the state wide PDP sensitization rally was going on under the leadership of Chief Dan Orbih led state Exco, supporters of a certain aspirant who are afraid of a certain defeat of their Principal when subjected to primaries and not endorsement as they unsuccessfully tried to do, openly manhandled some women who trooped out to welcome Chief Solomon Iyobosa Edebiri at Iguobazuwa.

Similarly, some supporters of Edebiri were stopped at Okada and their campaign beeps ripped off their bodies by some hoodlums in the name of supporting a particular aspirant endorsed by a particular family.

Sadly enough, these same miscreants, socio mis-fits and enemies of progress out of fear of the impending disgrace of this same principal of theirs have also destroyed the giant campaign bill board measuring of Chief Solomon Iyobosa Edebiri PhD, D.Sc, (Jp) mon at Irukpen along Benin Abuja Road.

The question every rational mind should ask at this stage is why all these display of rascality and obvious over desperation in the quest for becoming Governor of Edo State? Could it be as a result of the fact that they have realised that Chief Edebiri is in pole position to wining the PDP’s gubernatorial ticket? Could it also be as result of fear because of the grassroot support base of Chief Edebiri who rather than move hired supporters from one L.G.A to another as a deceptive show of support base had genuine supporters waiting to receive him as the sensitization tour moved from one L.G.A to another? The answer is as good as mine.

Whoever is responsible for these needless attacks and destroyed our bill board is not a hero but a coward. He or she is certainly not a friend of the People’s Democratic Party nor are they Edolites of modern times. They belong to the zoo and this is against the spirit of the new PDP under the leadership of Chief Dan Osi Orbih. It makes nonsense of the state wide PDP unity tour that ended on the 12th day of February, 2016.

If this is how they intend to run their campaigns, then they must watch it and redirect their uncut behaviour else where. We sternly warn; We have the ability to dish out whatever is dished out to us individually or collectively and we state in very clear terms; such brutish, unwholesome resort to self help and out of tune behaviour will no longer be tolerated henceforth. It took the maturity of our men to avoid what clearly would have been a blood bath when our women were needlessly attacked. We will not be as generous as this in similar situations next time. It will be fire for fire.

We state here that our mission is driven by a vision from God Almighty and we shall defend this God given mission with all it takes. Nobody can stop an action whose time has come. Nobody has the monopoly of violence. Civility is not and must never be mistaken for weakness. Edo is redeemable and would be redeemed from the forces of retrogression in this redemption year of 2016 for the Change We Want. ISE!!!

It is only a dreamer in a dream land that will take Chief Solomon Iyobosa Edebiri to be an easy meat to chew when provoked, such persons are foolishly in for a sucker punch in such situations. They will find out rather too late that he is a man with meek character but as hard as a steel internally. He can take soft decisions and take note a successful business man is known for taking some very tough decisions too.

We advise our esteemed supporters statewide to remain calm for now as we bring this unfortunate attack on our persons and image to the relevant authorities for necessary action.
